JILI1 Blank Screen on a Phone: What to Check First
A blank screen on a phone usually means a connection or loading problem.

Blank screen and page not loading: check the address and the connection
Page not loading is the first thing to rule out.
The page opens empty or never finishes
Check the address you typed, then refresh. Check that airplane mode is off and that Wi-Fi or mobile data is on. Chrome’s own order is URL and refresh first, then the internet connection. For the lobby, the page you land on should show the gold JILI1 wordmark with the 1 in a wreath, with Login and Register in the header.
Site not loading on iPhone: Safari’s checks
If Safari is not loading websites or quits, Apple’s support page gives the order below.
- Load a different site on cellular data or on a different Wi-Fi network.
- Restart the device.
- Clear website data: Settings > Apps > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. Apple says this occasionally improves Safari performance.
- Turn JavaScript on: Settings > Apps > Safari > Advanced > JavaScript.
Site not loading in Safari while other sites work
Run the four checks in order and reload after each. If one site only is failing after all four, Apple says to contact the website, which for the lobby means the LIVE CHAT label on its pages once one opens.
White screen and black screen: the browser has run out of room
White screen and black screen are the words readers use; Google’s and Apple’s pages do not use them, and the nearest wording on Google’s page is “Aw, Snap!”. Both usually point at memory or a stalled tab, and Chrome’s crash help gives the same three fixes.
A white or black screen appears after the page starts to load

An out-of-date browser
Chrome’s own order, after the connection check, is to update and restart Chrome. On iPhone, Safari updates with iOS, and Apple says a site that calls Safari out of date while your iOS is current may have a problem of its own, so contact the site owner.
The browser is old and pages stop loading properly

The site itself is down
Sometimes the cause is not on your phone. Google lists website downtime and maintenance among the causes of a loading error.
Every other page loads but this one does not

Chrome’s full list, in order, is: check the URL and refresh, check the connection, update and restart Chrome, browse in Incognito, delete browsing data, check for malware, free up memory, and reinstall Chrome last. Deleting browsing data is one step on that list and not a cure to reach for first.
